10 Easy Fidgets to Carry with You

We all need something to do with our hands sometimes, especially those of us with neurodivergent brains. Sometimes you want something easy to carry with you and fidget with without drawing attention to yourself or your fidget. These fidgets are all easy to carry with you in case of emergency.

1. The CONQUERing

The CONQUERing is a fidget, jewelry, and affirmation all in one. When you spin the spinner, a word or phrase is revealed. You can also fidget with it by clicking the spinner in and out of place. Since it’s a ring, it doesn’t take up any space and is the perfect subtle fidget.

2. Spiky Rings

Another ring… sorry not sorry! This one is a little bulkier, so you might want to carry it in your purse until it’s time to use it. This ring is great because of the pressure it provides. It can help ground you in times of anxiety and give your brain a feeling to focus on. Rolling it up and down your finger is also fun!

3. Calming Strips

These strips are so portable. You might even be able to slip one in a wallet or wristlet on a night out! They can also be attached to your phone, desk, or any other surface. The rough texture is a nice distraction for any anxiety or stress you’re feeling.

4. Bike Chain Fidget

This one is a personal favorite. The weight of the bike chain fidget feels nice in your hand and the repetitive motion of flipping it around is fun and calming. It’s perfectly pocket sized and can easily be played with under your desk or in a hoodie pocket.

5. Click Snake Fidget

The clicking noise this click snake makes is part of what makes this fidget so satisfying to use. You can bend the snake into different shapes and even take the links apart to make different color patterns. It’s small enough to fit in a little purse or a big pocket. The noise makes it a less subtle fidget than others, but the different types of sensory input makes it great for stress.

6. Stress Ball

The stress ball is a classic. Easy to carry and use, and a nice calming sensory experience. What’s not to like? You can throw it in your purse or backpack or keep it in your desk drawer. Another plus side of a stress ball is that everyone knows what it is. You probably won’t have to deal with coworkers asking you what it is!

7. Mesh Marble Fidget

This fidget is another that you can play with multiple ways. You can slide the marble back and forth, squeeze or rub the mesh, even shake the marble around. It’s small, quiet, and simple. If you have extra marbles laying around, you could even make your own!

8. Pop-It Keychain

Pop-its have become crazy popular in the last year or so. They come in tons of shapes and colors, from little heart shaped ones to large, foot long mats. The easiest kind to carry with you, though, is a keychain. Put it on your keys, your bag, whatever you want! You’ll always have a tiny fidget wherever you go.

9. Fidget Spinner

The fidget spinner is another classic. It easily fits in a purse, backpack, or big pocket. The spinning action is relaxing, and the vibration you feel from the spinning in your fingers is even more grounding sensory input.

10. Worry Stone

This is the last and tiniest one on the list. A worry stone is something smooth you rub to help calm down and ground yourself, or just to keep your hands busy. These ones are about the size of a quarter, so they can go everywhere you go. You can fidget with it as much as you want and as discreetly as you want.
